Wilderness First Aid Course

The ASHI Wilderness First Aid course helps you prepare for the unexpected. This fast-paced, hands-on training is designed to meet the needs of:

  • Outdoor enthusiasts

Child and Babysitting Safety Training Course (CABS)

The ASHI Child and Babysitting Safety training program focuses on supervising, caring for, and keeping children and infants safe in babysitting settings.

The program provides fundamental information on the business of babysitting, proper supervision, basic caregiving skills, and responding properly to ill or injured children or infants.

The intended audience for this course is young people, ages 11 to 15, who are interested in providing babysitting services.


Emergency Oxygen Course

The ASHI Emergency Oxygen Course is designed for serious and life-threatening medical emergencies that cause oxygen to be depleted in the body, leaving the victim at risk for shock. The ASHI Emergency Oxygen program focuses on:

  • Administering emergency oxygen to breathing and non-breathing persons
  • Emergency oxygen delivery systems
  • Integrating pulse oximetry.

The intended audience for this program includes individuals who either desire or are required to be trained in the administration of emergency oxygen.

Prerequisites: Current CPR or CPR and first aid certification.


Emergency Medical Response Course
$300.00 | Course lasts 8 hours
The ASHI Emergency Medical Response is designed to provide non-EMS responders with a level of training comparable to a professional emergency medical responder. Typical students include:

  • Government
  • Corporate
  • Law enforcement
  • Corrections personnel

This 48-hour course is consistent with national EMS curriculum requirements and education standards; however, it is not the intent of the ASHI Emergency Medical Response Program to cross the EMS scope of practice threshold.

Written Evaluation: Required

Skills Evaluation: Required

Students must correctly demonstrate how to work as the lead responder in a scenario-based team setting to adequately direct the primary assessment and care of:

  • Patient Assessment/Management: Trauma
  • Patient Assessment/Management: Medical
  • BVM Ventilation of an Apneic Adult Patient
  • Oxygen Administration by Non-rebreather Mask
  • Cardiac Arrest Management/AED

State EMS agencies have the legal authority and responsibility to license, regulate, and determine the scope of practice of EMS providers within the state EMS system. ASHI's Emergency Medical Response Program is designed to train and certify individuals in emergency medical response, not to license or credential emergency medical responders. Individuals who require or desire licensure and credentialing within the state EMS system must complete specific requirements established by the regulating authority. It is not the intent of ASHI's Emergency Medical Response Program to cross the EMS scope of practice threshold.

Pet First Aid and CPR Course
$25.00 | Course lasts 2 hours
The ASHI Pet First Aid class is intended for anyone interested in caring for their pet during an emergency. The class is for dog and cat lovers with little to no pet first aid experience. This class is fun and informative for teens and adults, with plenty of individual instructor time. Students will learn in a classroom environment and have the opportunity to practice various hands-on skills. Some of the skills and information that students will learn:

  • Personal safety
  • How to restrain a sick or injured animal
  • How to help a choking dog or cat
  • How to check a pulse on a dog or cat
  • Pet CPR
  • How to do a physical, snout to tail, assessment
  • Bandaging and splinting
  • Common pet illnesses or conditions
  • What to do in poison emergencies
  • What to put in a pet first aid kit and pet disaster kit
  • Disaster preparedness for your pet
